Project Description

Councillor Vacancies
Could you represent your town as a councillor?

Following the local Parish and Town Council elections on the 6th of May, Westbury Town Council has three councillor vacancies. The council has enough councillors to legally perform its duties but are keen to fill the vacancies.

We are a busy town council with many projects on the go and we need more hands to help us achieve our priorities. We have one vacancy in Westbury West Ward and two in Westbury North Ward. The role of a councillor is unpaid and there are meetings and activities that you may be involved in. But it is an extremely rewarding role, and you can really make a difference to Westbury. The only skills you require is a love of Westbury and a willingness to represent the community.

This is an exciting and busy time for the Town Council. We have a new council who will be working hard to finalise the neighbourhood plan, work to change the look and feel of the town centre and implement the climate emergency action plan. This is in addition to the day-to-day activities, such as representing the town through consultation and public meetings, taking greater responsibility for assets and services in the town and shifting our outlook and approach to meet the changing needs of our diverse community.

The deadline for us to receive your application is Friday 25th June 2021.
