Project Description

Accessibility Statement

Westbury Town Council’s commitment to website accessibility
We are committed to making our website as accessible as possible. We want everyone to be able to use it, no matter what their disabilities and which technologies they are using.

We have updated this website taking best-practice web accessibility guidelines into account, including GOV.UK

Adapting your experience to your needs
We have made the site as usable as we can, but you might have a better experience if you change the settings on your computer to suit your individual needs.

For example, you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader

For help customising your experience using accessibility features already on your computer, or by installing extra assistive technologies, try these sites:

How accessible is this website?
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible.

If you experience difficulty getting the information or service you need from our website, please contact us and we will be happy to help you.

Feedback and reporting accessibility problems using this website
We are always looking to improve the accessibility of our website, so if you find anything on the website difficult to use please let us know.

To help us understand the problem as quickly as we can, please tell us:

  • the web address or title of the page where you found a problem
  • what the problem is
  • what computer and software you use

All constructive feedback about the accessibility or usability of our website is welcome and we will consider it carefully.

Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No.2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

  • the search facility is not fully available
  • our branding colours may not be suitable with the colour contrasts

Content not within scope of the accessibility regulation.
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23rd September 2018 if they are not essential to providing our services.
