Chilli Fest

The first ever Wiltshire Chilli Fest with Extra Cheese is taking place in Westbury’s town centre on Saturday 25th September 2021, from 1pm to 7pm.

This Westbury Town Council Event is being run in association with Westbury Festival and is sponsored by Daykin Estates.

The family event will include live music, a chilli eating competition, Chilli Market and Kids Zone, kindly supported by the UK’s leading manufacturer of paper bags, Paper Bag Co.

Tequila Mariachi and Jamba de Samba will create a fiesta atmosphere, while its full cheese ahead with local favourite Rock n Roll band The Cley Hill Stompers bringing some classics to the Westbury Festival Stage.

The Chilli Plant competition will be judged by the experts at Wiltshire Chilli Farm, who have provided the special Loco Chilli seeds for the competitors. The brilliant Best of Your Pottery are providing the trophies for this contest and the hugely anticipated inaugural Chilli Eating Competition.

The Wiltshire Chilli Eating Contest will be hosted by the UK Chilli Queen and run by Hot Pod Chilli Products. Competitors can enter on the day.

The market itself will run through the High Street and feature more than 20 chilli-based stalls, including delicious hot food and a sangria bar.

Children will also be catered for at the event, with a full circus workshop running all day, as well as Facepainting, Apple Pressing and Story Tent for the really little ones. All children’s activities are absolutely free.

The Wiltshire Chilli Fest with Extra Cheese will bring the region’s hottest chilli fanatics together for a day of great food and music.

Due to the pandemic and the lockdown during the last year it is great that we are now able to get back to something like a normal life and hope everyone will enjoy the event.

Whilst most restrictions have been lifted, we still need to exercise vigilance and common sense and respect for others. To this end we have set up a one-way system and ask everyone to respect the systems in place and to show courtesy to your fellow residents at all times.

Car Parking at the Chilli Festival

If you live in the town, we’d like to encourage walking to the event. (If it’s possible for you to do so.)

The High Street car park in the town centre will be open but also bear in mind that there are only so many spaces.

Thanks to Westbury United FCwww.westburyunited.co.uk, they have kindly offered to open their football club to allow for parking! The club is only a 10/15 minute walk to the town centre. Tammy at the club will also be operating her cafe, serving hot food and drinks throughout the day. Parking will cost only £1.00 for the entire day. Postcode: BA13 3AF

If the football club car park is full, you can park just off Warminster Road behind the Champion Takeaway (opposite the fuel station.) Again, only a 10 minute walk to the town centre. Postcode: BA13 3PE

There is a small car park on Bratton Road, opposite The Laverton Hall and Westbury Town Council Offices. Postcode: BA13 3BP

Morrison’s in Westbury have a car park for those who are shopping in the supermarket. This is based on Edward Street. Postcode: BA13 3BL

Please be aware that whilst there are spaces to park on the side of the road in various locations in Westbury, we ask that people are mindful to local residents by parking sensibly, not blocking any driveways and leaving enough room for mobility vehicles and pushchairs on the pavements.

If you are travelling from outside Westbury, why not make use of the public transport running from the towns surrounding Westbury. The Train Station is around a 20/25 minute walk from the town centre.

Thank you for your support. We can’t wait to see you there!
