Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022 – Beacon Lighting
Beacon Lighting
On Thursday, 2nd June 2022, at 9.45pm, the Beacon at the White Horse will be lit in commemoration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. There will be a special bugle rendition of ‘Majesty’ played at the historic White Horse site. Dignitaries from across Wiltshire, Westbury Town Councillors and members of the public are invited to witness this iconic ceremony which will take place on the same day as the Jubilee tea party being held in the High Street, Westbury.
More than 1,500 Beacons will be lit at the same time across the UK, Channel Islands and UK Overseas territories. All the Beacons will stay lit for an hour to mark the extraordinary achievement of longevity of her Majesty the Queen, Britain’s longest ever serving Monarch.
